12 on the 12th in 2012: February

Here are my photos for this month's Take 12 challenge.  Used Instagram again.

It was a good day (heck, any day I don't have to cook dinner is a good day!)

Now I need to get my butt in gear and make layouts for these two months.
I have found some great inspiration on Pinterest:

And there's a Flickr group with lots of inspo, too.

If you're doing Take 12, leave a message so I can check out your photos!

Art Journal Wks 4-6

Art journaling.

I'm so green...and unsure.

But I'll keep creating them because I can't give up
I want to fill up this book
I want to play without any rules
I want to learn and try new techniques

Someday I want to have beautiful art like these

For now, here are the past three weeks (and yes, that means I am all caught up!)

Week Four:
The base is pages torn from a holiday Anthropologie catalog.  I simply added in some sketched stars with a Sharpie, and then colored in  some of them with shades of colors (also Sharpies)

Week Five:
This page began as a little experiment with some 7Gypsies color washes I've had for forever.  I tried to make the drips look better by outlining them with black pen.  I didn't like it so I gessoed over it.  Then found string writing on Donna Downey's blog and decided that would be perfect to cover over the mess I had made.

Week Six:
Just playing with some new mists and the negative leftover from punching the hearts for week 5.  Oh, and some new Smash washi tape--love, love!

And I'll leave you with these photos of my new baker's twine stash.

Have a beauty-filled day!

Some More Valentine's

Some quick and simple Valentines for Maddox's friends.

Picked up the bubbles at Target in the Valentine section.

Printed the text that Maddox chose onto cardstock and cut it out with the Sizzix large scallop circle.  The bubbles are attached through two slits cut into the cardstock.  Then top it off with an embossed Sizzix-cut heart.  So easy!  And best of all--DONE!

February Reveal

I'm a smidge behind this month.
That might be an understatement.

Ever have those days where you feel you're doing everything you can just to stay afloat,
to keep up with the daily stuff--the school papers, the kid's sports, the crafty projects, the work deadlines, the house-cleaning, the meal-planning, the errand-running...

I've had a lot of those days this month.  And then just when I think I'm pulling ahead, something else crops up and I'm further behind.

It happens, and the only way out is to keep plugging along. So here I am sharing the projects I created with the February kits from Scrapbook Heaven.

First, the kits:

Yum, right?

And this month I was able to work on the handmade embellishments included in the kits:

Ticket Invitations

Uggh!  I don't know what it is with me and this blog lately, but I can't seem to keep up with posting.

Sometimes I think I am just in a bout of creating, and can't take the time to post.  Wish I could say that was the case this time.  Nope.  Not really.

Anyway, I did work on some super cute invites for a client's little girl's second birthday.

Her theme is Taylor Swift and she wanted a ticket invite.

no ticket is complete without a scan code. this QR code takes you to the video of the birthday girl's favorite song.
Love when there is a clear idea, and I just need to put it into action.  Love when things just come together.  Love doing digi stuff where I can just hit 'print' and not have to reproduce.

Loved working on these!

And it wasn't all digi.  I did pull out some paper and glue to create some handmade envies
Handmade lined envies
Super fun project and I'm thrilled that she likes them!
